Questions about going to a tanning salon…?
I want to get a tan – not really dark, just something equivalent to a nice summer tan all over my body – so I’m going to a (desert sun) tanning salon for the first time tomorrow, and have a bunch of questions…First, how many times will I have to go to notice a tan? I have white skin, but already a bit of a tan from this summer. I also tan fairly easily. I need to wear my bikini, right? Once I have a tan, how often will I need to go to keep it the same? Should I buy tanning lotion or something at the salon? I shouldnt wear makeup, right? Basically anything you could tell me about using a tanning bed would be awesome, thanks!
Thanks Nikki! Exactly what I wanted to know.
It’s best to tan with no makeup on. Apply your tanning lotion before you get into the bed. Moist skin tans, dry skin doesn’t. I prefer to tan nude, but it is up to you. I just don’t like tan lines. If you use a lotion with a bronzer then you will notice results within a few hours. How dark you get and how fast really depends on your skin type. Most salons offer unlimited monthly tanning. If this is the case at yours, try going every day or every other day for a total of three sessions. This should give you a good idea of how you tan. Once you get to your desired shade then you should tan every week or so to maintain it. If it is a good salon then they should be able to look at you and give you idea of what bed to use and for how long and what lotions would work best. There are bronzers, maximizers, blushes, tingles… Tons of fun to be had!
Also, make sure to apply an aftertan lotion. This helps you keep your tan longer.

Tanning beds are not safe.
I mean, you might look good and be happy, but there consequences.
Sometimes you can look orange, which looks really fake.
Tanning beds can lead to:
Freckles, premature wrinkles and skin cancer.
They are very bad to your skin.
I suggest you get a spray tan.
I’ve seen some that come out really good.
Or you could try using one of those lotions.
Take really good care of your skin NOW or you’ll regret it later.
Wear sunscreen whenever you go outside, whether it’s sunny or not.
Exfoliate once a week.
Use a good cleanser and moisturizer.

Going once you will def see a difference. Also go in moderation. Sure tanning beds can be bad but so can going to the beach if you do it too much or dont take precaution. I would buy lotion online if you can since the salons charge like wayyy too much. You can try http://www.tanbybrand.com/ for great prices.
