Make sure your business plan is based on 5 years, not just one or two. PLAN PLAN PLAN, and have a back up plan or 2 or even 3. (sorry, that’s more than ONE, but still)

Good Networking…it’ll help you build clientele and let folks know you are friendly, knowledgeable, trustworthy, etc. Also, look and act the part…I wouldn’t want to go to a little training/supplement/health food store where the co-owners are not in good physical shape.

Consider a "Pamper Yourself" salon… tanning, massages, manicure/pedicure, facials… you can package and sell "pampering" gift baskets filled with scented candles, lotions and other things people enjoy (for themselves, and as gifts) to pamper themselves.

Sell gift certificates too… a perfect little gift for anyone, a relaxing trip to your store.
