Showering before or after tanning?
Now, I know this sounds like a dumb question, but first let me explain…

Showering before gives you the benefit of exfoliated clean skin, and after using tanning lotion, the lotion should be left on for a few hours to react to your skin mixing with the UV, or so I think. BUT – I hate the way I feel after outdoor or indoor tanning, my skin is greasy and if I want to leave to go out with friends I feel dirty and unclean and don’t want to dirty another outfit if I want to change.

So, my question is what do you guys do? Shower before or after, or which one seems more logical?

If you have a skin question you should go to http://www.myspace.com/skinquest
a real esthetician will answer your question. it is the coolest thing. but you have to have a myspace account to post a question. good luck

If you must shower, do it after. Shower before removes natural bodily oils from your skin that are great for tanning. Having "exfoliated clean skin" does not benefit your tanning at all.

Ideally you should wait at least an hour after tanning if you used a special lotion or bronzer, for maximum effect.

Good luck.
