Can I use Hawaiian Tropic Dark tanning lotion in an indoor tanning bed?

By Sonni · Wednesday

You can find it anywhere and its much cheaper than the indoor tanning lotions, and I heard someone say it can get you nice and dark. I don`t think its meant for tanning beds, but can I use it in an indoor tanning bed and still get a nice dark tan anyway? Its spf 4 .

I don`t want to hear about the risks, I already know =)

You can’t use mineral oil or baby oil based lotions on an indoor tanning bed because they ruin the acrylic, eventually making it crack and break. If you really want to know if you can use it, call or ask a person who has worked in a tanning salon or the owner of a reputable salon. Be honest. If you don’t like the scents or it’s just too pricey, tell them. If they really want your business, they’ll tell you which store bought lotions are bed safe.

it contains mineral oil which ruins the bed acrylics so if you get caught using it they will charge you a fine$$$
