You will want to get a sample or lotion with a bronzer in it which the lotion will prevent you from looking burnt and help you get a more bronzed tan. Some lotions have a light DHA which is like a self tanner but isn't streaky. DO NOT try tingle lotion until you are an advanced tanner because it helps people bust over their plateau and it tends to be very hot itchy and uncomfortable after about a min lasting 20mins. But it is important to have good skin care while tanning in UV beds because it really dries your skin out! Don't let the salon rip you off on some bottle of lotion! Lots of salons jack their lotion prices up 3 times what they get it for from the distributors so don't get sucked in look on ebay for some good lotion such as Australian gold products!
